100 WC Showcase Week 14

Adam wrote a 100 Word Challenge entry that needed to include '…the cold had got right into my bones when…'. His work was 'Showcased' on the 100 Word challenge website.

Below is a copy of his writing that was originally posted here.

One day on the international space station a man called Tim Peak landed in the dock. He was the fist british man to ever go on the station and he was very exited. We made a special welcome party for Tim and the mess hall looked awesome. When he got here he told us about his life on the ground. Once he got settled in he was the life and soul of the whole station. But one day there was a space storm. These are hints that don't accur very often and there was on that day the cold got right into my bones...

100 WC Showcase Week 14

Hannah wrote a 100 Word Challenge entry that needed to include '…the cold had got right into my bones when…'. Her work was 'Showcased' on the 100 Word challenge website.

Below is a copy of her writing that was originally posted here.

"Cold" I said. I was alone. The cold had got right into my bones when I saw a little light in the distant. Slowly, I walked closer and until the door handle was in reaching distance. I reached out a ice cold hand and knocked on the door. I was so surprised when the door opened and a gust of cold air came towards me. Then a dark shadow came out of the fog. It looked at me closely. I was ready to run when the shadow said hello. I was surprised when I saw it was a polar bear.

SpellFix Y3-Y6 Crosswords

In our English lessons, we have been using the SpellFix Y3-Y6 Word Lists app to help improve our spelling ability.

This week, once we'd completed a level, we needed to put the words into a crossword. Below are two examples (one by Hannah and the other by Millie) based upon Level 3 in the app.

100 WC Showcase Week 12

Charlotte wrote a 100 Word Challenge entry that needed to include 'my head really ached'. Her work was 'Showcased' on the 100 Word challenge website.

Below is a copy of her writing that was originally posted here.

Aarrgghh! 3:10 already! Oh, why, why did time have to pass so fast? Only 10 minutes of the school day left, but why should I be happy? Two sentences in 1 hour, 34 minutes would surely equal detention? I hope not. My mind was blank and my head really ached, so I couldn't think of anything. I stuck my head over my shoulder and peeked at Seamus' work. Over 10 lines already! I looked at my own work, frustrated by the glory and pride of everyone else's work. I suddenly looked at my watch. Uh oh!"DETENTION!"

Samaritan's Purse Shoebox Appeal

We  would  like  to  thank  all  the many  children  from  Year  Five  and  other year groups who so generously donated a shoebox full of gifts  for underprivileged children in other parts of the world.  These were collected last week by the Samaritan's Purse charity who were able  to load a grand total of  45 boxes into their van, which far exceeds  the  number  collected  in  previous  years,  and  will  be  delivered  in  time for Christmas.
Well done!
