Today, we had a visitor in school from Bletchley Park. This half term, the children have been studying a unit of work entitled 'We are Cryptographers' and have learned about the history and development of encryption and its role in modern day computing.
The visitor added to this study by brining an Enigma Machine into school. The children decoded a message, learned about the history of sending messages in secret and learned about the role the Enigma Machine and Bletchley Park played in World War Two. The session culminated in seeing the Enigma Machine work and the children even being able to operate it.
Tom, the visitor from Bletchley Park said, "...enthusiastic, motivated students are a pleasure to work with!"
