First Week in Year Five

This week in Year Five we've had loads of fun!  We sketched birds as pretty as a picture and had a competition to see which group could build the highest self-standing tower out of colourful Lego.  All the classes had fun trying out cup stacking, and we learnt how to make a curve out of straight lines.  We've also had fun reading Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.  Lastly, we did some GoNoodle, and that got us up and moving.  The first week in Year Five has been absolutely amazing!

Christmas Countdown Problem

Mr. Murphy set his class the following task:

With the numbers shown, what numbers from 365 days to go - 0 days to go can not be displayed?

The children worked in groups to try to solve the problem.

Mia, Joe, Freddie E, Milena, Grace and Jamie worked well together and think there are 43 days that can not be shown. What do you think? Did they get them all?
