100 Word Challenge 'Amazing News from Week 35'!

Week 35 of the 100 Word Challenge involved a 'very special prompt' supporting Voluntary Service Overeseas.

100 WC Showcase Week 24

Charlotte wrote a 100 Word Challenge entry that needed to be based upon a photograph of a prison cell. Again, like many times this year, her work was 'Showcased' on the 100 Word challenge website.

 I opened my eyes to see an unfamiliar room with rusty bronze bars at the entrance. I was in prison. I closed my eyes, rubbed them hard then opened them. But I was still there. I kept silent as I could see other prisoners asleep and security guards outside some of the other cells. The bars wouldn’t budge as I shook them hard and kicked against them with all my might. I was trapped here forever. I looked around the room again for an escape route. But it was no use, I was trapped here forever.

Everything one could ever dream of owning was right in front of me and I imagined what it would like to have all I could see. A man walked up to me. “You wish you had this too?”
“Yes,” I breathed,” It’s all I-I could ever imagine.” The man nodded and walked off. I continued to stare at the pile of items that reached to the top of the high, stone roof. I blinked rapidly as I crossed my fingers and wished that one day this could be mine. But then, suddenly, it all disappeared.

I woke up, to an awakening sound It was a airoplane flying over my house: I am used to it . I opened my curtains and saw the bright sun beaming into my room . I ran down the stairs to find my yellow violin smashed, it was broken. Suddenly the house shook I was terrified rubble started falling down on me. I woke up to find pieces of debris on top of me it was like I was eaten alive. When I finally managed to get out my mum had swept away most of the dust and we were all safe.

Children were scattered all over the playground. Laughing, skipping, having fun and shouting. I sat in the corner against a brick wall, tears in my eyes and blood dripping out from my nose. I remembered what had happened earlier.
But then, suddenly, a whistle blew and everyone disappeared. I blinked and wiped the tears from my blurry eyes. I was’t seeing things. Or dreaming. It was real, or rather not real. Everyone was gone. GONE!
The only thing that was left was a sparkly silver whistle lying on the grey concrete floor. What... had happened?

’Help! Help! were under attack get to your battle stations! Launch all fighters! the captain shouted. I ran to my fighter, got in, and launch! I was attacking something like 1000 enemy fighters(well I wouldn’t say that cause they looked like bins). I was the leader of squadron 1 by my side on the left was my friend Gabriel and on my right was my other friend Stan my squadron was made of 15 fighters myself and my friends I ordered to split the squadron up Stan would take 5 planes and himself Gabriel and I would do the same.

I was playing football on the field with my friends. Then i found a box in the middle of the field and I put my hand in the box and felt it. I found a new premier league football with new customized sock boots inside the box. Next, i ran home and showed my mum and my dad and they said “wow how did you find them, you are very lucky to find that in a box in the middle of a football field. “I know I’m very lucky to find them but I’m not going to wreck them because there to special to me.

I tried, I really did. It wasn’t my fault. Well, not exactly my fault. Okay, mostly my fault. I didn’t mean to, though.

“That doesn’t look very good,” a posh voice from behind me said. I ignored it. “Are you listening? You’ve done it all wrong.” I still said nothing. A small hand grabbed my shoulder and forced me to turn. I saw myself staring at an immaculate desk. The hand pointed proudly at a piece of paper with some circles on. “I’ve seen better,” I managed to say.

It wasn’t my fault. The spot just grew and grew and grew.

 POW! That was the super hero bolt dashing past on a crime fighting mission. The CF (crime fighters) received an anonymous message that said someone was trying to burn down the Empire State Building. They had dispatched the most trustworthy superhero Bolt (who also happened to be the fastest superhero hence the name) to investigate. As soon as he got there he gasped, “Wow people that’s a mighty big fire you’ve got here”. Suddenly a figure emerged from the smoke, his name is the Smoker. Bolt socked him in the jaw and knocked him out. The fire raged until a rain cloud put it all out.

 

 

Mother's Day

The gas dancer is a green swimming, monkey that is likely to be extinct tomorrow. It lives in the Amazon Jungle, swings from trees and eats platypuses for breakfast, beetles for lunch and squirrel tails for dinner. Tomorrow the animal will be no more so I have composed a song for it.
O little gas dancer,
Your body will decay,
O little gas dancer,
You won't be able to play.
I am very sad that I won't be able to see my tail eater friends again.
